UNDP and Japan Launch Training Initiative for Ukrainian Entrepreneurs

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, supported by the Government of Japan, has launched the Sustainable Business Platform. Academy, an initiative designed to equip Ukrainian entrepreneurs with the skills needed to thrive amid ongoing challenges. The program’s first phase introduces four specialized courses:

1.Digital Solutions for Business Resilience, developed in partnership with WebPromoExperts, teaches entrepreneurs how to leverage digital tools for business stability during crises.

2.LEAN Management, offered with the Lean Institute Ukraine, focuses on applying LEAN methodology to streamline resources and reduce costs.

3.Energy Resilience for Business, created in collaboration with Greencubator, emphasizes implementing eco-friendly and energy-efficient practices.

4.Export Readiness for SMEs, developed with Ukrposhta, provides tools for small and medium enterprises to access international markets.

The initiative aims to train over 800 entrepreneurs across Ukraine, helping them develop practical strategies for resilience and success. UNDP has partnered with WebPromoExperts, Lean Institute Ukraine, Ukrposhta, and Greencubator to create a platform tailored to the needs of Ukrainian businesses.

Jaco Cilliers, UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine, emphasized the academy’s importance in fostering a robust business environment: “This initiative equips entrepreneurs with critical skills and opportunities, addressing challenges Ukrainians face daily and advancing economic resilience.”

UNDP research reveals that 70% of Ukrainian entrepreneurs lack the knowledge and skills required to achieve business goals, particularly in the context of war. The Resilient Business Platform. Academy, part of the “Transformational Recovery for Human Security in Ukraine” project supported by the Government of Japan, delivers targeted courses to address these gaps and bolster businesses during difficult times.
